About the role
BrightSpark BPO is looking for a capable and motivated Software Developer to join our growing team in Bislig City.
You will help build, maintain and improve web applications, business systems and integrations used by our business and international clients.
We welcome applicants with practical experience in PHP, Node.js, Python or React. You do not need to know all four, but you should be confident working with at least one and willing to develop your skills further.
This is an office-based role at BrightSpark BPO in Bislig City.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Developing and maintaining web applications and business systems
• Building user interfaces, backend services or integrations, depending on your skills
• Adding new features and improving existing functionality
• Connecting applications through APIs and working with databases
• Investigating bugs and resolving application issues
• Writing clear, secure and maintainable code
• Testing changes and supporting reliable software releases
• Using Git to manage code changes and collaborate with colleagues
• Documenting important functionality and keeping colleagues informed of progress
• Working with colleagues to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Practical development skills in PHP, Node.js, Python or React
• Familiarity with the frameworks and tools relevant to your chosen technology
• An understanding of APIs and how web applications work
• Experience with databases for backend roles, or HTML, CSS and JavaScript for frontend roles
• Familiarity with Git and version control
• Good written English and the ability to explain technical work clearly
• A logical approach to troubleshooting and attention to detail
• The ability to complete agreed tasks independently and ask for guidance when needed
• Reliability, good organisation and a willingness to learn
Experience with automated testing, cloud hosting, deployment or application security would be an advantage.
Previous professional development experience is welcome, but we also encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate their ability through personal projects, freelance work or contributions to existing software. Practical ability, code quality and attitude matter more than qualifications alone.
